"VOU" FIJIAN CULTURAL DANCE
VOU was founded in 2007 by Sachiko Miller and Sinu Naulumatua primarily as a contemporary pacific dance company, to investigate our Pacific Island identities within today’s high-tech globalised society through movement. Since its inception Vou has branched out into music and now TV with our new season of “the VOU show” coming soon. A spectacular and diverse cultural experience –
Vou performs for the opening of the World Dance Alliance’s Global Summit in Brisbane, Australia. Also for the performative presentation’s Vou performes ‘The evolution of Dance’. An investigation through movement of the evolution from traditional Fijian meke, to modern “Pacific Fusion Dance”.
August – Vou Dancers travel to Indonesia to study for three months traditional Indonesian music, art, dance and martial arts.
