In demand both nationally and internationally, Dr Dimitri Kopanakis boasts credits as a Featured Soloist, Guest Conductor and Music Educator.
He has performed in and conducted many well known operas, musicals and key events across Autralia, and in China, England, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Wales.
His opera credits include roles in La Boheme, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Die Fledermaus, Rigoletto, Orpheus in the Underworld, Angelique, and concert productions of the Fairy Queen, Albert Herring, The Song of Hiawatha, War & Peace, L’enfant et les Sortiges, The Bartered Bride, Cavalleria Rusticana, L’Orfeo, Madama Butterfly, Norma, Carmen, and Peter Grimes. Dimitri’s music theatre credits include musicals such as Les Miserables, West Side Story, Sweeny Todd, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Little Shop of Horrors, and Chess.
Throughout his career, Dimitri has worked with some of Australia’s and Asia’s leading orchestras and theatre companies. He also appears as a guest lecturer for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at a number of Universities and Colleges across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Academically, Dimitri has completed a Professional Doctorate, a Master of Music Studies degree in Performance, and a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree.
